Wexford Lions Club have been hosting students from all around the world under the Lions Youth Exchange (Inwards) Programme since 2009. This programme is aimed at fostering cultural relations between students of different nationalities and the host nation. The students are sponsored by Lions Clubs in their home districts.
The students spend three weeks in Ireland and stay in the NUI Maynooth, NUI Galway and Waterford IT Campus. While staying in Waterford for the week they are hosted by Lions Clubs in the South East.
Lion Anita Ryan has hosted the students on behalf of Wexford Lions Club and brought them to various tourist amenities in the county over the years including the Dunbrody Famine Ship, the Ros Tapestry, the Hook Lighthouse, the Irish National Heritage Park and Enniscorthy Castle, while ensuring that they sample the best of Irish hospitality in various hostelries in the county.
